Growing up in Florida has taught me to be prepared for an afternoon thunderstorm just about every single day from now until November. More times than not, the rain will disappear within an hour or so and the sunshine state will resume living up to its name.
That hour of torrential downpour tends to occur at a critical time in the afternoon. The time when naps are wrapping up but the chance of being struck by lightning prevents anyone from safely playing outside. It is in those critical times, that I learned the importance of keeping a “rainy day” stockpile of engaging activities, educational games and fun toys.
The key to the success of this rainy day stash is to bust out the activities, games and toys during the rain and politely put them away once the rain has stopped. Use this tactic to help keep games fresh and fun for little ones!
Tackle those rainy days with these engaging games and activities!
