Potato Painting!

Potato Painting!

This is the PERFECT post Easter egg hunt craft!

What You Need

  • 2-4 Pastel Paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Plate For Paints
  • 1 Red Potato
  • Paper
  • Papetowel
  • Kitchen Knife (Adult Use Only)

This craft requires mild adult preparation. First using a sharp knife, cut the red potato in half. Take a paper towel and blot any excess moisture. Once halved, cut and carve out 2-3 lines per potato. Make sure to use the side without the potato skin. This will give each side of the potato an uneven texture which is a fantastic base for stamping once painted.

Allowing little ones to complete the remainder of this craft may help enhance gross motor skills. It is simple! Using the paintbrush, paint the potato side that is carved and stamp onto paper. The more colors, the more fabulous the “Easter” eggs will turn out!
